This is our first task—caring for our children. It’s our first job. If we don’t get that right, we don’t get anything right. That’s how, as a society, we will be judged.
And by that measure, can we truly say, as a nation, that we are meeting our obligations? Can we honestly say that we’re doing enough to keep our children—all of them—safe from harm?
“Caring for our children” is “our first task.…That’s how, as a society, we will be judged.”
What judgment was president Obama talking about when he said that we, as a society, will be judged?
This is right. Our descendants will certainly condemn us. I am convinced that the Atlantic slave trade, the Holocaust, and the Rwandan genocide will all fade into the background as our great-grandchildren look back on our generation and gasp in horror: “They did what?”
President Obama prophesied of a real judgment to come.
But is that the judgment we are to fear? Will being afraid of what our great-grandchildren think of us ultimately motivate us to walk in righteousness and care for our children now? Sure, it may cause us to think twice about what we’re doing; but fear of the judgment of our grandchildren will never cause us to truly repent of our wickedness. Only fear of God and of His judgments can do that.
But what will God judge our society for? For school shootings like Sandy Hook? (Maybe.) For not keeping our children “safe” by buckling them into their car seats? For endangering our children’s lives…by feeding them processed sugar? Are these the things God will judge our society by?
No; God will judge us for the bloodguilt of murdering our own children.
In fact, we are being judged by God right now.
Listen to this judgment, which God spoke against His own people in the Old Testament prophet Hosea:
Samaria will be held guilty,
For she has rebelled against her God.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Their little ones will be dashed in pieces,
And their pregnant women will be ripped open.
Behind those walls, right there, the pregnant bellies of women are ripped open, and little boys and girls with beating hearts and functioning brains and eternal souls are torn to pieces, limb by limb, with doctors’ forceps, and are destructively removed from their mothers’ safe wombs.
This devastation—the tearing to pieces of our little ones—is part of God’s judgment on the murderous practice of abortion itself.
That’s why we’re here, today, at Planned Parenthood. We want it to stop.
Planned Parenthood is a place of iniquity. A place of blood-guilt. These recent videos uncovering the buying and selling of babies’ hearts, and babies’ livers, and babies’ brains are truly horrifying. I can hardly believe that I just spoke those words: the buying and selling of babies’ hearts, and babies’ livers, and babies’ brains.
Planned Parenthood is a place of utmost wickedness…but this is no new revelation. Let’s not be naively surprised that those who have been profiting for decades from the deaths of tens of millions of innocent children have been seeking a little bit more greedy profit through the selling of their victims’ corpses. Planned Parenthood has always been a place of murder, a place of bloodshed.
Planned Parenthood is a place of falsehood and deceit. With these new exposés, it simply becomes clearer that, despite all the rhetoric, Planned Parenthood and its doctors, and nurses, and leaders, and supporters, are not benevolent humanitarians with “good intentions.”
God’s Word accurately diagnoses them when it says,
Their feet run to evil,
And they hasten to shed innocent blood;
Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity,
Devastation and destruction are in their highways.
How can any abortionist pay for his crimes but at the hand of God? No Emancipation Proclamation, no Nuremberg Trials, no Defund Planned Parenthood campaign, no act of congress, no human court with every power at its disposal, could begin to avenge the innocent blood of 56 million children. The blood-soaked clinic-room floors, and dumpsters, and the very ground itself, cry out to God for the lives of medical professionals, and legislators, and fathers, and mothers…who have killed these babies, as well as for those of us who have remained silent. Only God can pour out the wrath of vengeance appropriate to this bloodthirsty evil.
Listen to Psalm 5:
The boastful shall not stand before [God’s] eyes;
[The Lord] hate[s] all who do iniquity.
[He] destroy[s] those who speak falsehood;
The Lord abhors the man of bloodshed and deceit.
God truly hates the falsehood and deceit of Planned Parenthood. He abhors that they have taken advantage of the weak and the vulnerable, the orphan and the widow. But as we come, let us be sure to repent of our own sin, our own aiding and abetting of this wickedness. Let’s not forget that we—you and I—in our society, with our own hands, and have committed one of the greatest atrocities against God and against humanity.
We must plead with God—in his mercy—to put an end to this bloodshed. The longer it continues, the swifter and more terrible will be God’s judgment on us as a nation, and we must cry out to God for justice to be carried out now.
Why do You stand afar off, O Lord?
Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble?
In pride the wicked hotly pursue the afflicted;
Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.
For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire,
And the greedy man curses and spurns the Lord.
The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him.
All his thoughts are, “There is no God.”
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
He sits in the lurking places of the villages;
In the hiding places he kills the innocent;
His eyes stealthily watch for the unfortunate.
He lurks in a hiding place as a lion in his lair;
He lurks to catch the afflicted;
He catches the afflicted when he draws him into his net.
He crouches, he bows down,
And the unfortunate fall by his mighty ones.
He says to himself, “God has forgotten;
He has hidden His face; He will never see it.”
Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up Your hand.
Do not forget the afflicted.
Why has the wicked spurned God?
He has said to himself, “You will not require it.”
You have seen it, for You have beheld mischief and vexation to take it into Your hand.
The unfortunate commits himself to You;
You have been the helper of the orphan.
Break the arm of the wicked and the evildoer,
Seek out his wickedness until You find none.
The Lord is King forever and ever;
Nations have perished from His land.
O Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble;
You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear
To vindicate the orphan and the oppressed,
So that man who is of the earth will no longer cause terror.
