Our leaders in the White House had something to say about that:
The Administration strongly opposes H.R. 7. The legislation would intrude on women's reproductive freedom and access to health care; increase the financial burden on many Americans; unnecessarily restrict the private insurance choices that consumers have today; and restrict the District of Columbia's use of local funds, which undermines home rule.
Human sacrifice is permissible, as long as it meets the following criteria:
1. The individual sacrificed must be a child still in his/her mother's womb.
2. The sacrifice must be for at least one of the following reasons:
• to avoid the inconvenience of parenting
• to save money
Furthermore, restrictions on the practice of human sacrifice must NOT:
• limit anyone's healthcare options
• restrict the federal government's ability to spend taxpayers' money
